Table Features and Rate Issue Alerts

Updated · 1237 words · 7 min read

Table Features in Snooker King are optional, per-centre switches that add extra ways of running a table: changing table after the free period, pausing a game, stopping a table automatically, keeping running tabs, sending a stopped game to a tab and letting a named customer pay later. Every feature is off unless your centre asks for it. The Rate Issue alert is a separate warning badge on a table tile that tells you when a table has no rate, or a zero rate, for part of today or tomorrow. Both are used by owners and managers who set up the floor, and by operators who run tables every shift.

Before You Start

  • You need an owner account, or a manager account that can open the Tables tab in Settings.
  • Select the organisation and centre on the Operations page first. The feature switches are read per centre.
  • Snooker King switches Table Features on or off for your centre. You can see which ones are on, but to change one, contact VYROX support.

Checking Which Table Features Are On

  1. Open Settings and choose the Tables tab.
  2. Press Advanced Settings at the bottom of the window. The Table Features window opens.
  3. Read the state beside each feature: On, Off, or, for the two features that can follow the organisation, On, Organisation Default or Off, Organisation Default.
  4. Press Close (or the X at the top right) when you are done.
FeatureWhat It Adds
Change Table After the Free PeriodChange Table always works inside the free period, when nothing has been charged. With this on, it also works part way through a visit: what the customer played so far stays on the first table at that table's rate, and the whole visit stays on one bill.
Pause GameA Pause Game button next to End Game. Paused time is not charged. Count down games cannot be paused.
Auto Stop TimerAn Auto Stop button on a running count up game, so the table stops itself after a set number of minutes.
Running TabsThe Running Tabs button on the Operations page, for drinks and items kept on a named tab and settled later.
Send a Stopped Game to a TabA Send to Tab link on a stopped count up game, which moves that game onto a customer's running tab. Needs Running Tabs on as well.
Pay LaterLets a named customer leave a table bill to be paid later: Pay Later on a count up bill, Start Game Now & Pay Later on a count down, and freeing a table whose bill is raised but still owing.

Settings That Belong to a Feature

Two settings on the Tables tab appear only when their feature is on.

SettingShown WhenWhat It Does
Minimum Charge on a Table MoveChange Table After the Free Period is onOne amount for the whole centre, added to any table a customer moves onto. 0.00 means a move adds nothing. Saved with the Save button at the bottom of the Settings window.
Game Charge Reminder (Remind After)Send a Stopped Game to a Tab is onHow many hours (1 to 72) a game charge may sit unpaid on a tab before operators see a reminder. Leave blank for the standard 3 hours. Press the Save button beside the field.

Using Each Feature on the Floor

Change Table After the Free Period

  1. Open the running count up game and press Change Table.
  2. Pick the new table and confirm the move.
  3. The first table's time is closed as its own game line at that table's rate, a new line opens on the new table, and both stay on one bill. The Minimum Charge on a Table Move is added if you set one.

Pause Game

  1. Open the running count up game and press Pause Game. The button changes to Resume Game.
  2. Press Resume Game when play restarts. The paused time is not charged.

Auto Stop

  1. Open a running count up game and press Auto Stop. The Auto Stop This Table window opens.
  2. Type the number of minutes (1 to 1440), or press 30 min, 60 min, 90 min or 120 min.
  3. Press Set Timer. The button now shows Stops in followed by the time left.
  4. To change or remove it, press the button again, then enter a new time or press Clear Timer.

When the time is up the game ends exactly as if End Game had been pressed: the clock stops, the light goes off and the bill waits at the counter. Reopen Game brings it back if the customer wants to carry on.

Running Tabs

A tab is an open bill you can keep adding to. Items come off stock as soon as they are added, and nothing is charged until you settle the tab at the till.

  1. On the Operations page, press the Running Tabs button. The Running Tabs window lists every open tab.
  2. To open a new tab, type a name in the box at the bottom, or start typing a member's name or mobile and pick the member from the list.
  3. Press Open Tab. A tab opened for a member is priced at that member's rates.
  4. Press Refresh to see tabs another till has just opened.

Sending a Stopped Game to a Tab

  1. Open the table and find the stopped count up game line on the bill.
  2. Press Send to Tab. The Send This Game to a Tab window opens.
  3. Choose one of the open tabs, or choose Open a New Tab and type the customer's name. A tab needs a real name; Walk-In is not accepted.
  4. Press Send to Tab.

The game comes off the table and lands on the tab as its own line, priced at the tab owner's rate, with no second discount or service charge. It stays on the tab until the tab is paid and cannot be taken off.

If a game charge stays unpaid longer than the Remind After hours, every operator sees an Unpaid Game Charge on a Tab reminder. Press Open Tab to settle it, or choose a time and press Remind Me Later.

Pay Later

With Pay Later on, a bill for a named customer can be left unpaid. The bill waits under Receivables against the customer's name. See Checkout, Payments and Pay Later for how to collect it.

The Rate Issue Alert

A small round ! badge on the corner of a table tile means the table's rates do not cover the whole of today or tomorrow. Hover over it on a computer for a short hint, or click or tap it to open the Rate Issue window, headed with the table name.

Badge ColourMeaningRisk
RedNo Rate: part of the day has no rate configuredA game started in that gap cannot be charged, and billing for that session fails
AmberRM 0 / hr: every hour is covered, but part of the day is RM 0.00 per hourGames in that window are billed RM 0, a silent revenue leak

The window shows a Today and a Tomorrow chip with the status of each day, a "What this means" explanation and a "How to fix it" checklist.

Fixing a Rate Issue

  1. Click the ! badge on the table tile.
  2. Press Open Rate Settings. The rates settings open for that table.
  3. Choose the table, its Table Type, or Center Default (All Tables) to cover every table at once.
  4. Press Add Rate, pick the day type and a time window that covers the gap. For an all-day rate, set From 00:00 and To 00:00.
  5. Enter an hourly rate above RM 0 and save. The badge clears on the next refresh.

Rates are explained in full in Tables, Table Types and Game Rates.

Hiding Amber Alerts for Tables That Are Meant to Be Free

Some tables are deliberately set to RM 0, for example bar-tab tables. The Suppress Zero-Rate Warnings switch under Settings > System > Dashboard Warnings hides the amber alert for those tables. It is on by default. Red (missing rate) alerts always show. See System Settings.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why Can I See Table Features but Not Change Them?

Table Features are switched on per centre by Snooker King. Your screen shows the current state of each one; contact VYROX support to turn one on or off.

Can a Count Down Game Be Paused?

No. Count down games are bought for a fixed time, so Pause Game only applies to count up games.

What Happens When the Auto Stop Timer Runs Out?

The game ends as if End Game were pressed: the timer stops, the light goes off and the bill waits at the counter. Press Reopen Game to continue.

Can I Remove a Game After Sending It to a Tab?

No. Once sent, the game stays on the tab until the tab is paid. Check the tab name before you press Send to Tab.

Does an Amber Rate Issue Badge Change the Bill?

No. The badge is only a warning. The game is still billed at the rate that applies, which for an amber badge is RM 0.
