Live Monitor Presets, Spotlight and Overtime Display

Updated · 965 words · 5 min read

The Live Table Monitor presets and display options in Snooker King control how your wall TV looks and what it draws attention to. You choose a theme Preset, a layout Style such as Spotlight, a Spotlight Rule that decides which table gets the large hero panel, how overtime countdown games flash and are badged, and whether each table shows paid and time progress bars. It is used by owners and managers who set up a customer-facing screen in the hall. Switching the monitor on, sharing its address and customer privacy are covered in Table Lighting and the Live Monitor.

Before You Start

  • You need an owner account, or a manager account that can open the Tables tab in Settings.
  • The Live Table Monitor must be switched on for the centre, and you should have it open on a screen so you can see each change.
  • All the options below are in Settings > Tables, in the Live Table Monitor section. The section is grouped under headings such as Layout, Theme, Grand Total, Timer & Animations, Behavior and Activity Highlight.

Choosing a Theme Preset

  1. Open Settings > Tables and scroll to Live Table Monitor.
  2. Under Theme, choose a Preset.
  3. To match your brand, pick an Accent Override colour and, if you like, a Background Override. Press Clear to go back to the preset's own accent.
  4. Press Save at the bottom of the Settings window. The monitor picks up the change on its next refresh.

Layouts and the Spotlight Rule

Under Layout, the Style can be List, Grid or Spotlight. Grid also offers Grid Columns and Grid Density (Compact, Comfortable or Spacious).

Spotlight shows one table in a large hero panel with the other tables listed beneath it. The Spotlight Rule decides which table takes the hero panel:

Spotlight RuleWhich Table Is Featured
NewestThe game that started most recently
Highest TotalThe game with the highest running total
Closest to OvertimeThe count down game with the least time left. If no count down game is running, the count up game that has been playing longest
CycleEach game in turn, changing about every 8 seconds

Tables under maintenance are never featured in the hero panel; they stay in the list. In Spotlight style the monitor does not page through tables automatically.

Overtime Display

A count down game is in overtime once its purchased time, plus any grace period, has run out and the game has not been ended. The timer then shows the extra time with a plus sign, for example "+00:05:12". Count up games never go into overtime.

Under Timer & Animations, choose how overtime is shown:

OptionWhat It Does
Overtime FlashThe overtime timer flashes to catch staff attention
Tint Overtime RowThe whole row or card of an overtime table is tinted
Overtime BadgeAn OVERTIME badge appears beside the total

The header can also show an Overtime Count chip under Summary Stats, and Sort Order under Behavior can be set to Closest to Overtime so tables about to run out rise to the top.

The same section sets the Timer Format (HH:MM:SS, HH:MM or Smart (auto)) and the Animation used when digits change (Smooth, Flap or None).

The monitor shows a PAID badge when a finished game is fully settled, and an UNPAID badge when a finished game still has money owing. Paid Flash briefly highlights a table when a payment is taken; Paid Flash Duration (s) sets how long the flash lasts.

Under Grand Total you can add two thin progress bars under each table's total:

OptionWhat It Shows
Show Paid ProgressHow much of the table's bill has been paid, as a share of paid plus owing. Appears once anything has been paid or is owing.
Show Time ProgressFor count down games, how much of the purchased time has been used

The bars are not shown when Total Mode is Current Round / Game Charge (live), which keeps each table to a single figure. With Running + Split (Paid/Unpaid), the Subline Behavior option adds a "Paid / Owe" line: Always Show, Only When Partially Paid or Never Show. Hide Total Until Game Ends still applies on top of these choices.

Activity Highlight

When something happens on a table, such as a game starting or a round being added, the monitor can float that row to the top and pulse it in a colour you choose.

  1. Under Activity Highlight, tick Enable Highlight.
  2. Tick Pin to Top and Flash Animation as you prefer, and set Highlight Duration (s) and Highlight Color.
  3. Under Trigger Events, tick the events that should trigger it: Game Started, Game Ended, Game Reopened, Round / Cut Game Added, Package Added (Countdown), Payment Processed and Item Added (POS / F&B).
  4. Save.

Paging and Motion

Under Behavior, Auto-Paginate pages through tables when they do not fit the screen, at the Page Interval (s) you set, with optional Show Pagination Dots. Motion Speed can be Calm, Standard or Brisk. Pause When Tab Hidden stops updates while the monitor page is not visible, which saves work on a shared computer.

Restoring the Default Look

  1. In the Live Table Monitor section, press Default Settings.
  2. Read the Restore Live Table Monitor defaults? message and press Restore Defaults.

This resets layout, theme, header, totals, behaviour, activity and display options for the centre. The monitor address and the on or off switch are not affected.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why Does a Table Show OVERTIME?

It is a count down game whose time, plus any grace period, has run out and it has not been ended. Staff should add time with Package or end the game.

Which Table Does Spotlight Feature?

The one chosen by the Spotlight Rule: the newest game, the highest total, the count down closest to running out, or each table in turn with Cycle.

Why Are the Progress Bars Missing?

Check that Show Paid Progress or Show Time Progress is ticked and that Total Mode is not Current Round / Game Charge (live). The time bar only appears on count down games.

Can I Stop the Overtime Flashing but Keep the Badge?

Yes. Untick Overtime Flash and leave Overtime Badge ticked.

No. The footer and brand line are managed by Snooker King for all centres.
