Table Lighting and the Live Monitor

Table lighting control in Snooker King switches each table's lamp automatically: the light turns on when a game starts and off when it ends, so no one can play without being billed. It works through VYROX AIoT lighting boards, each with several relay channels, one channel per table. The Live Monitor is a separate full-screen page that shows every table's status and timer on a wall TV. Both are used by managers during setup and by operators every shift.

Before You Start

  • Your lighting boards must be installed and wired by VYROX or your installer. Keep the device details they give you.
  • You need an owner account, or a manager account with Lighting Control ticked under Setting Permissions.
  • Operators need Turn Table Lighting On ticked under Lighting Permissions on their employee record to switch lights on by hand. Turning a light off is always allowed.

Turning On the Lighting System

  1. Open Settings > Lighting Control.
  2. In Global Config, set Lighting System to Enabled.
  3. Leave Timeout, Retries and Debug at the values your installer gave you.

Adding a Lighting Device

  1. In Settings > Lighting Control, press Add Device. The Add Lighting Device window opens.
  2. Enter the Device Name, for example "Hall A board".
  3. Enter the Device ID, Controller Host, Port, Protocol, Authentication Username, Authentication Password and Number of Channels supplied by your installer.
  4. Leave the fields under VYROX MQTT API Endpoints at the values supplied.
  5. Press Test VYROX Connection, then Query Device Status to confirm the board answers.
  6. Use CH1 ON and CH1 OFF (or All ON and All OFF) to check the wiring. Only do this when no games are running on those tables.
  7. Set Status to Active and save.

Linking Tables to Channels

  1. Go to Settings > Tables and edit each table.
  2. Choose the Lighting Device and the Lighting Channel wired to that table's lamp.
  3. Save.

Each device card under Lighting Control shows ACTIVE or INACTIVE and lists its unassigned channels, and a separate list shows Tables without a lighting board, so you can see at a glance what is still unlinked.

Replacing a Faulty Board

  1. On the device card, press Replace.
  2. Enter the details of the new board and press Replace Device.
  3. Check the device card afterwards. If any tables appear under Tables without a lighting board, link them again in Settings > Tables.

Using Lights During a Shift

  • Starting a game with either Count button turns the table light on.
  • Ending the game turns it off. When a tile changes to UNPAID, Snooker King also switches the light off.
  • A running table shows a manual Light On link. A READY or UNPAID table shows Light Off. Tables with the Arcade theme show Turn On and Turn Off instead.
  • When a countdown shows TIME UP! or a game is paused, Light Off appears so you can switch the lamp off without ending the bill.

The Live Monitor

The Live Table Monitor is a full-screen page for a wall TV showing each table's status, timer, customer and running total.

  1. Open Settings > Tables and find the Live Table Monitor section.
  2. Tick the switch so it changes from Disabled to enabled. Snooker King generates a private monitor address.
  3. Press Open Monitor to preview it, or Copy URL and open that address on the TV's browser or media player in full screen. The Live Table Monitor icon in the page header also opens it when a centre is selected.
  4. Adjust the display, for example Style (List, Grid or Spotlight), Preset, Clock Format, Custom Display Name, Tagline, Member Name Display, Non-Member Label, Total Mode, Timer Format and Refresh Interval (s).
  5. If a screen leaves your premises, press Reset URL to issue a new address. The old link stops working.

Customer Privacy on the Monitor

The monitor is seen by everyone in the hall, so decide what it shows:

  • Member Name Display can show the Full Name, First + Initial (J. Doe), Initials Only (J.D.), the Member ID, or nothing (Hidden).
  • Under Display Elements, untick any column, such as Customer or Total, that customers should not see.
  • Hide Total Until Game Ends keeps the running amount off the screen during play.
  • The header can show Summary Stats chips, including Total Revenue. Leave that chip unticked on a customer-facing screen.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Light Did Not Turn On When I Started a Game. What Now?

Check that the table has a Lighting Device and Lighting Channel, and that the device is ACTIVE. Then use Query Device Status on the device card. If the board is offline, the game is still timed and billed; switch the lamp manually and call your installer.

Can an Operator Switch a Light On Without Starting a Game?

Only if their employee record has Turn Table Lighting On ticked. This stops staff giving free play.

Does the Live Monitor Show Revenue?

Only if you choose. Each table can show its running total, and the header can show a Total Revenue chip. Untick the Total column and the Total Revenue chip under the monitor settings if the screen faces customers.

Can I Use More Than One TV?

Yes. Open the same monitor address on each screen.
