Sales Agents and Commission

Sales agents in Snooker King are staff who earn commission on what they sell, such as cues, cases, drinks promotions, credit packages or memberships. Each agent has a level that decides their commission rate per item, and can belong to a team whose leader earns an override on the team's sales. Commission is recorded as unpaid when a bill is paid and is settled later in payouts. Agents follow their own earnings in the Sales Agent Portal. It is used by owners who pay commission and by the agents themselves.

Before You Start

  • Create the agent as an employee with the Role set to Sales Agent. See Staff, Permissions and Attendance.
  • Set up levels and teams first in Sales Agent Settings, the gear button on the Employees Management page.

Setting Up Levels and Teams

  1. On the Employees Management page, press the Sales Agent Settings gear.
  2. On the Levels tab, enter a Level Name and press Add Level, for example Junior and Senior.
  3. On the Teams tab, enter a Team Name and the Leader % of Sales, then press Add Team.
  4. Open each agent's employee record and choose their Sales Agent Team and Sales Agent Level.

Deleting a team leaves its agents as agents without a team. Past commission is not affected.

Setting Commission Rates

  1. Go to Settings > Point of Sale and edit an item.
  2. Open the Sales Agent Commission tab and set the rate for each level. The tab appears only when your organisation has at least one agent.
  3. Optionally, on an employee, set a Service Commission Rate as a percentage of net sales on every invoice that person serves, and press Save Commission.

How Commission Is Calculated

Attaching an Agent to a Sale

  1. In the Point of Sale, open the Sales Agent card and use Tap card or search Sales Agent, or tap the agent's staff card on the reader.
  2. To share a sale, add more agents the same way. Each appears in the list and every line in the cart is credited to the whole group.
  3. Take payment as usual. Commission is recorded when the bill is paid.

The Sales Agent card appears in the POS only when your organisation has at least one active agent. It is also shown when you add items to a table bill.

The Commission Report

  1. Go to Revenues and set the report type to Sales Agent Commission.
  2. Choose All Sales Agents or one agent, the Status and the Period.
  3. Read the totals: Total Commission, Unpaid (Earned), Paid Out and Attributed Sales, then the entry list.
  4. Press Print Commission for a printout.
  5. Press Process Payout to settle one agent's unpaid commission for the chosen dates in a single payout.
  6. Open Payout History and tap a payout to see its entries, Print it, or press Reverse Payout to undo a payout made in error.

You can also settle commission from the Payouts tab of Sales Agent Settings: choose the Sales Agent, From and To, press Preview, then Mark as Paid.

Warning

Process a payout only after you have actually paid the agent, for the same date range. Commission that has already been paid is not voided if the bill is refunded later; recovering it from the agent is your decision.

The Sales Agent Portal

Agents sign in to the Sales Agent Portal with their own username. It is read-only and has four tabs: Home, Sales, Payouts and Me. Agents see Commission this month, Unpaid balance, Paid out (all time), a monthly breakdown of own sales and leader override, and each sale's commission, including Shared with and How it was split for shared sales.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can Two Agents Share One Sale?

Yes. Attach both agents in the POS. The commission is split equally between them, as shown under How it was split in the portal.

What Happens to Commission When a Sale Is Refunded?

Unpaid commission on that bill becomes Voided, so it is not paid. Commission already paid out stays paid.

Does Commission Include Tax?

No. Commission is calculated on the item value after discount, excluding tax and service charge.

Can I Undo a Payout?

Yes. Open the payout in Payout History and press Reverse Payout.
