Task Records and Admin Editing

The Tasks tab in PlanTask88 is the record of every site visit, showing each task's project, work type, employee, start and end times, duration and any out of range flags. Employees see their own tasks; admins see everyone's and can filter, correct or delete records.

The Tasks List

Each row shows the project, the system type and task type, the employee, the status (in progress or completed), the start time and, for completed tasks, the end time and duration. Warning tags appear when relevant:

Started · out of rangeThe task was started outside the allowed distance.
Ended · out of rangeThe task was completed outside the allowed distance.
Auto-closed · not verifiedNobody completed the task, so PlanTask88 closed it at the time limit.

Filter by Status

Tap a chip at the top:

  • All
  • In progress
  • Completed
  • Out of range (tasks flagged at start or end)

If nothing matches you see "No tasks match this filter."

Filter by Employee and Date (Admins)

  1. On Tasks, press the funnel (Filters) button next to the chips. A number on it shows how many filters are active.
  2. In Filter tasks choose an Employee or All employees.
  3. Under Date range, set From and To. Dates match the task's start date.
  4. Press Apply. Press Clear all to remove every filter.

Open Task Details

  1. Tap any task row.
  2. Task details shows the status and tags, project, work type and employee, Started and Ended times, Distance or Duration, map links for the start and end positions, the Start photo and End photo, and the Start note and End note.
  3. Tap a photo to open it full size, or a coordinate chip to open Google Maps.
  4. If the task is still running, press Mark Completed to finish it.
  5. Press Close to go back.

Edit a Task (Admins)

Admins can correct a task, for example when a technician forgot to check out.

  1. Open the task and press the pencil (Edit) icon.
  2. In Edit Task change any of these fields.
  3. Press Save changes. PlanTask88 shows "Task updated".

PlanThe plan the task belongs to.

Task type / System typeThe work classification, or None.
StatusIn progress or Completed.
Started atStart date and time.
Ended atEnd date and time. Shown only when Status is Completed, and required then.
Start note / End noteThe technician's notes.

Note

Correcting the times of an auto-closed task gives an accurate duration in Reports.

Delete a Task (Admins)

  1. Open the task and press the bin (Delete) icon.
  2. Confirm "Delete this task permanently? This cannot be undone."

Warning

A deleted task is removed from all reports and cannot be recovered. Prefer editing a wrong task over deleting it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why Can't I See My Colleague's Tasks?

Employees see only their own tasks. Admins see all tasks.

Why Is the Edit Button Missing?

Only admins can edit or delete tasks. Ask your admin to make the correction.

The Task Shows Completed but I Did Not Finish It. Why?

Either an admin completed it for you, or it was auto-closed after running past the time limit. Auto-closed tasks carry the Auto-closed · not verified tag.

Does the Date Filter Use the Start or End Date?

The start date of the task.
