Environment, Dust, Noise and Settling Ponds

The Environment screen in VYROX Quarry (AIKuari) keeps the quarry inside its dust, noise and water limits and shows the evidence. It checks PM10 against the site trigger and the Malaysian Ambient Air Quality Standard (MAAQS 2020), shows day noise and settling pond discharge against their limits, and switches sprinklers on by a dust and wind rule. HSE officers and quarry managers use it daily and for regulator reports.

Note

This guide is based on the AIKuari (VYROX Quarry) demo, which runs on sample data for a fictional company, Demo Quarry Sdn Bhd. Every figure shown is a sample value, not a measured result or a guarantee. Screens, labels, limits and menus may differ in a live deployment, depending on how VYROX sets up your sites and your role.

The product also describes PM2.5, night noise by zone and pond pH against Standard A and B.

The Dust Rule and Sprinklers

The Dust Rule · North Quarry card shows whether sprinklers are on and why. All three conditions must be true to switch on:

  • The PM10 1-hour average is over the trigger (150 µg/m³ in the demo).
  • The wind is from within 45° of the village bearing, so it blows toward the village.
  • The wind speed is at least 1 m/s.

Each condition is listed with a tick or a cross. When the rule fires, the command is queued for the site gateway and the Event Log records "Sprinklers switched ON automatically (dust rule)". In the demo the sprinklers switch off once PM10 is below 90 µg/m³ and they have run 30 minutes.

Wind and the Village

The Wind and the Village card shows a compass with the village direction, the 45° window either side, and where the wind is blowing. Below it, the Event Log lists rain and sprinkler events with their times.

Settling Ponds and Water

  • Level sensors on ponds, sumps and tanks report levels.
  • Pond Discharge shows suspended solids against the discharge standard.
  • The product describes IO controllers running pumps from level readings.

Important

Automatic sprinklers support compliance but do not replace your site's environmental management plan. Keep manual controls and inspections in place.

Which Standards Are Used?

Why Did the Sprinklers Not Start When Dust Was High?

All three conditions must be true. If the wind was blowing away from the village, or was too light, the rule does not switch on.
