The Dashboard in PlanTask88 is the home tab that shows today's task counts, the task you are working on right now with a live elapsed timer, and, for admins, every team member who currently has a task in progress. Technicians use it to start and finish jobs quickly; supervisors use it to see who is on site.

Your Task in Progress

When you have a task running, a large card shows:

  • In Progress and, if you started away from the project, an Out of range tag.
  • The project name and the system type and task type.
  • Elapsed time, counting live in hours, minutes and seconds, and when it Started.
  • Distance at start in metres and the Location coordinates.
  • Your Start note, if you wrote one.
  • Mark Completed, plus Photo and Map links when a start photo or position was captured.

Finish the Task

  1. Press Mark Completed on the card.
  2. Follow Starting and Completing a Task to confirm your location and add a photo or note.

When a Task Runs Too Long

If a task has been running longer than the limit set by your admin (12 hours by default), the card turns red and shows "Running over ... Did you forget to check out?". Press Mark Completed so your hours stay accurate. If nobody closes it, PlanTask88 closes it automatically and marks it Auto-closed · not verified.

No Task in Progress

When nothing is running, the card says No task in progress with a Start New Task button.

  1. Press Start New Task.
  2. Choose a plan and follow the steps in Starting and Completing a Task.

Note

You can only have one task in progress at a time. Complete the current one before starting the next.

Team in Progress (Admins)

Admins see an extra card, Team in progress, with the number of team members currently working. Each row shows the person, the project and task type, a live timer and a Flagged tag when the task was started out of range.

  1. Tap a row to open Task details for that task.
  2. From there an admin can edit or delete the task, or press Mark Completed on the technician's behalf.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why Does My Timer Keep Running After I Close the App?

The timer is worked out from the start time saved on the server, so it keeps counting whether or not the app is open. Only Mark Completed stops it.

What Does Out of Range Mean?

You were farther from the project than the allowed distance when you started the task, so a proof photo was required. The task is counted as flagged in reports.

Why Do I See Other People's Tasks?

Only admins see the Team in progress card. Employees see their own tasks only.
